The idea of constructing a general purpose hospital was a long way dream to the owner and medical director, Dr. Ayanaw Admassu, about eleven years ago.

Dr. Ayanaw dedicated his life to the construction of the only private hospital in debre birhan, Ethiopia. The hospital was opened to the public only three months ago, with the latest medical equipments, and senior specialists and a branch of surgical wing that gives FREE cleft lip services in collaboration with AMRF's top flying surgeon Dr. Asrat Mengiste. Three children and one adult have benefited from this free surgical procedure.

The majority of our work at ayu general is at the out patient department, and the most frequent diseases are, typhus, brucellosis, tuberculosis ... but the number of HIV cases are dramatically decreasing.
